KITE

Game: Unreal Tournament III (Modification)

Description: Kite is a fast paced multiplayer sport, set in the brutal arenas of the distant future.  Players use hoverboards and grappling hooks to manuver across the harsh landscape, searching for an edge.

Kite can best be summed up as "a pub game with depth."  We had a concept that was really easy to get into, and levels that allowed new players to fly around and have fun while learning the more nuanced elements of the maps.  We found with our testers that there was a reliable progression from loose packs of unorganized hooligans, to well oiled Kiiting machines.

Role: Level Designer / Game Designer

Tasks:

  • Created game concept, pitched to the team
  • Documented and co-designed one of the final maps
  • Created presentation material, presented game concepts and milesteone reviews.
  • Responsible for building one of the two final levels

Team Size: 9 (1 Programmer, 2 Artists, 6 Designers)

Development Time: 12 weeks
