Leviathan

Engine: Unreal Tournament 3

Team Size: 18 (10 designers,5 artists, 2 programmers, 1 sound)

Responsibilities:

  • Design a city from BSP whitebox to final product
  • Create the buildings and environment using modular assets
  • Playtest the map for balance and fun
  • Prototype destructible areas and enemy pathing using Kismet
  • Revise and redesign areas based off playtesting 
  • Create and update the level design documentation

Description: Leviathan is a third person flying game where the player has to escort a large Leviathan mothership through a hostile enemy city with the ultimate goal of destroying the city’s massive communications tower. The player must help clear a path for the Leviathan by destroying fighters, turrets and shield generators that inhibit the Leviathan’s path. The player accomplishes this by firing directly at the enemies or by calling a devastation beam down from the Leviathan. Leviathan’s unique mix of arcade style shooting and destructible environments makes the game unique and easy to enjoy.

Final Act

Responsibilities:

  • Design the layout and level flow of a multiplayer map
  • Develop a level from BSP whitebox to a finished product 
  • Place all props and actors
  • Playtest the map for balance and fun
  • Revise and redesign areas based off playtesting 
  • Create and update the level design documentation

Description: Final Act is a hybrid RTS/FPS multiplayer game. The player takes the role of a minion from the forces of light or the forces of shadow. Each side battles each other across the surreal landscapes of the underworld with the ultimate goal of destroying the enemy soul core. The player has no direct attacks in Final Act. Instead, players can summon turrets that provide various effects similar to a tower defense game. The player has a collection of shards that depletes when the player creates turrets and these shards replenishes slowly over time. By mixing elements of existing genres, Final Act creates a memorable and unique game that is fun to play.

Master's Lackey

Engine: Torque X

Team Size: 5 (2 designers, 2 artists, 1 programmer)

Responsibilities: Level Designer

  • Design the layout and level flow for a 2D sidescroller
  • Place the props and actors for levels 1,2 and 3
  • Playtest the map for balance and fun
  • Revise and redesign the levels based off playtesting 
  • Create and update the level design documentation

Description: Master’s Lackey is 2D sidescrolling game where the player takes the role of a magician’s apprentice as he scrounges through an enchanted forest looking for magical reagents for his master. The forest is a dangerous place filled with monstrous worms, vicious birds and flaming geysers. The player has a variety of magic spells to help combat these obstacles. At its core Master’s Lackey is a unique lighthearted game that is fun for both children and adults.
