Sun Farm

Solar windmill concepts modeled from a sketch. Created in 3DS Max 2010 and textured in Photoshop CS3 and Mudbox 2009.

This scene was chosen because of the unique form and concept of these "solar windmills", and it looked like a really peaceful scene regardless of the hulking metal giants in the foreground and background.

Abandoned village of San-Zhi

This scene was a directed focus study where I modeled the ruins of a futuristic village that currently exists in San-Zhi, Taipei, and is now a desolate tourist attraction. Many stories circulate about why this village never came to be, from questionable building practices, to property disputes, and the most interesting one, the government's refusal to tear it down since it is rumored to be haunted, and it is forbidden to tamper with places where spirits still roam.

I picked this scene because it tries to deceive with its colorful and playful look and almost toy-like appearance, yet deep down it is a depressing image of abandonment and decay, which gave me the chance to play with some interesting textures.

Train Station

Directed focus study of an underground train station. Modeledin 3DS Max, textured in Photoshop and Mudbox.

This scene was built from photographic reference, chosen as an exercise in creating and replicating metallic and reflective surfaces.

Reactor Core

Work in Progress - Directed focus study from a sketch by artist Feng Zhu.

"Ithaa" Underwater Restaurant

This scene was modeled after a real underwater restaurant located in the Maldive Islands, called "Ithaa". Made in 3DS Max and textured in Photoshop.

This environment was picked because of its texture variety, which gave me the chance to work with metal, glass, wood, plastic and their respective transparency and reflection.

Digital Illustration

2D painting done in Photoshop from photographic reference.
