Riding Shotgun is a single player level for Gears of War. Marcus has been seperated from his squad, and needs to work his way to an extraction point. However, the way there is extremely dangerous; Locust hordes are everywhere. So the Coalition of Ordered Governments (COG) has cut a deal with a local Stranded community: let Marcus use their souped up car, in exchange for a little help with the Locust in their area.
The level focuses on Gears of War style combat scenarios with a twist: a harrowing drive down a ruined highway. The level reaches its climax with the car shooting over a hill and into a billboard (with plenty of explosions!).

Operation: Righteous Eagle is a single player level for Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. It is a work in progress, scheduled for completion on May 15th 2009.
This project seeks to whisk the player from one thrilling moment to the next. The player launches grenades from a Mark19 turret on a Seaknight helicopter, fires stinger missiles, plants c4 explosives, and single handedly destroys enemy tanks with the Javelin portable anti-tank gun. As a member of the USMC 1st Force Recon, your mission is to rescue a hostage being held by terrorists.

The Siege of Morganda is a level for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.
This project is an example of building towards an exciting climax. Criminals are threatening a secluded city, hidden deep in the mountains. Why are these criminals wanting to sack this unremarkable town?
Solving these mysteries leads the player to a final showdown with "Notting's Hammer," the criminal band of Nords looking to steal a powerful artifact. This showdown allows the player the thrill of participating in a town-wide battle royale!

Face Melter was developed over the course of the Programming For Level Design 2 class, which is offered to level design students who take the scripting minor at SMU Guildhall.
Face Melter is a music based "Roguelike" RPG developed entirely in LuaScript. As a class, we were handed a very basic and broken (intentionally) game. We had to fix broken features (such as game saves, the shop, combat, etc.) and add new features of our own.
In Face Melter, the object of the game is to buy enough guitar lessons to "win the mythril cowbell." To do this, you battle "lame" rockers like Phil Collins and Kenny Loggins (no offense to those gentleman!). The key feature is the "face melter," which is my critical hit system. At certain times, the player must click on a series of red notes. If they do this quickly, they initiate a "face melter" critical hit that destroys all enemies and gives the player a gold bonus.
As a side note, the rock guitar featured in the game was performed by myself, using a Daisy Rock solid body with humbucking pickups (with coil tap) through a Crate 1x10 tube amp with preamp overdrive :-)

This is a recreation of the classic Quake III Arena map in Unreal Tournament 3. My goal was to create a futuristic Asian environment, by combining custom art (models and textures) that I created with Unreal Tournament 3 art assets. This level also features moving ships in the background. These are animated using panning shaders.
