Those familiar with Unreal Tournament 2004 will recognize the onslaught style of gameplay in Element. Each team starts at their respective capacitor (power core) and battle across the level fighting and obtaining elemental batteries (fire, water, earth) in order to finally destroy the opposing capacitor. However, the latter cannot be damaged unless the team is linked to it, making it necessary to link to the enemy capacitor by controlling elemental batteries on the map.
