My name is Nasser Elsamadisy, I am attending the Guildhall at SMU in Dallas, Texas and am completing a Masters in video game development, with an emphasis in technical and environmental art. My main interests are creating scripted tools to increase the efficiency of artists and their pipelines related to getting art assets into the game. I also enjoy environmental modeling and texturing.
Current work includes creating world assets for NewToy on their currently undisclosed project, and also creating assets for a project at DreamFly. My own projects include writing a number of scripts designed to speed up artist pipelines during asset creation, as well as building my own environments.
Creating environment art for the Braveheart: Primae Noctis capstone game at the Guildhall is another big part of my day to day schedule. Primae Noctis is a single player game built in the Unreal Editor 3 in which the player switches between three magical forms, each with unique abilities that combine stealth and action, to assassinate the English occupiers of Scotland during the Wars of Scottish Independence.
This profession appeals to me as it lets me create the two things I love most - video games and art. I bring with me my artistic and scripting skills, my bilingual and multicultural history and understanding, and my love and dedication for the work I do.
I am a great addition to any team because of my broad horizons and capabilities. I can contribute to the development of the game on many different levels. I love to work with others, and love to see a product transform to become so much more than the sum of its parts.
