Morgan Wilson

Designer/Scripter

Creating intricate sequences that lead to memorable moments for the audience--both viscerally and psychologically--is a critical skill to learn as a level designer.  Seeing a player's reaction as seemingly disparate elements come together in ways that tantalize the player's senses is one of the greatest joys that comes from game development.  To achieve these goals, I frequently tap my experiences as a professional DJ in New York City by meticulously developing well-paced levels and intricately timed events.

Check out "Entrenched Re-envisioned," an individual Gears of War mod, to see a staged clever ambush by the Locust at a critical moment to trap the player in an ever-increasingly perilous environment.  For a look at more psyche-oriented works, please see the Master's (MIT) Project page. Using a modification of Fallout 3, this project attempts to discover if players become more invested in their moral choices when they have to invest economically in those decisions.

Aside from level design, I also have a great interest in game and systems design--particularly elegant ones that provide a great framework for my teammates to hone their creative talents.
