Level Designer / Scripter

Specialty in gameplay scripting, environmental scripting, and in-game cinematics

After playing many games for the better part of my life, I realized the absurdities in the actions we are taught to perform playing video games. This realization did not detract from the amount of fun I had. Katamari, for example, is simply a game about rolling up various odds and ends into a ball that grows ever larger, for the sole purpose of creating an even larger ball. I think that's totally awesome.

Over the course of my long standing love affair with video games, I learned that players can be taught to have fun doing just about anything, as long as the mechanics are polished and well taught.

I try to bring this lesson into practice in my professional life by communicating the gameplay elements of my levels using a plethora audio-visual cues, instant and gratifying feedback, consistency in experience, and in-game cinematics where available.

Have yourself a look through my portfolio and send me any questions, comments, or criticisms you may have.

All the best,

- Ahmed A.
