Overview

Join us November 19-20 as The Guildhall at SMU hosts the gaming industry’s top hiring managers at Career Days – Fall 2009. Studio recruiters will once again receive complete access to about 40 of our most promising upcoming SMU graduates and experienced SMU alumni.

Career Days – Fall 2009 welcomes recruiters from professional game development studios and video game publishers. The event is closed to recruiting agencies.

The final registration deadline is October 30. Registration may close earlier if all available meeting rooms have been reserved.

How Our Process Works

1. First, register for Career Days to reserve a private interview room. To register, send an email to mslee@smu.edu. Include the number of attendees from your company and how many interview rooms you’ll need (maximum of 2). There are a limited number of rooms available. An invoice will be sent to you via email.

2. Next, download the .PDF containing the portfolio links of our available candidates.

3. After reviewing portfolios, submit a list of candidates you’d like to interview to mslee@smu.edu. An interview schedule containing only the candidates you selected will be created for you. A copy of the schedule will be emailed to you.

4. Upon arrival, you’ll receive a packet containing printed resumes, interview schedule, etc.

Basic Registration Package: $100

• ONE recruiter
• ONE interview room* (table, chairs, electrical outlets, Internet connection, white board, and steno pads)
• Company name and loge placed prominently on The Guildhall at SMU website. If you’ve not done so before, please email your high-res logo to bradh@smu.edu.
• Company name included in all public relations activities
• Free parking
• Continental breakfasts and catered lunches Thursday and Friday
• VIP area with beverages and snacks throughout the event
• Thursday night reception at local restaurant/club

Extras

• $50 for each additional recruiter
• $100 for each additional room

* Interview room size will vary, but the smaller rooms can seat five people comfortably. SMU will make room selections based on the expected number of recruiters per studio. Fees are non-refundable.

How to pay for Registration

1. Submit your registration form as listed above to mslee@smu.edu. You’ll receive a confirmation email.
2. An invoice will be emailed to you from The Guildhall at SMU. Checks should be made payable to The Guildhall at SMU:

Brand Your Room

Studios leave a strong impression on our students when they brand their interview rooms. Company information sheets, posters on the walls, logo table skirts, etc. can be sent in advance of your arrival.

SMU staff will set up your room before you arrive for Career Days, break it down after the event, and ship your items back to you (just tell us your shipping account number and provider).

Accomodations

The official Career Days – Fall 2009 hotel is NYLO Plano. Attendees receive discounted room rates for their stay, and will enjoy complimentary shuttle rides to and from the hotel and the SMU-in-Plano campus.

Transportation/Parking

The NYLO Plano at Legacy offers complimentary area shuttle service, including travel to and from the SMU-in-Plano campus (3 miles). Attendees should arrange for shuttle transportation during check-in.

Parking at SMU and the NYLO Plano is free.
